FEMA Hazard Mitigation Plans
The Disaster Act of 2000 (DMA
2000) is legislation that President Bush signed into law
that states: "All Counties" within the United States shall
prepare a hazardous Mitigation Plan. This act
establishes a new pre-disaster hazard mitigation program
and specifies new requirements for post-disaster Hazardous
Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). Public Law 106-390.
Each County must have an approved plan by November 2003.
We provide a service that uses community involvement to
identify your local hazards and assess possible loss that
could occur to your community. We will evaluate
potential issues of mitigation and compile a benefit-cost
analysis. This mitigation study will include
historic buildings and cultural impacts that could occur
from a disaster. Let our "Emergency Planners" assist
your community in the development of this very
comprehensive plan. Without this plan, it would cost
your community millions of dollars in lost Federal Aid.
